Thursday, February 26th, 2009 We went for a real magazine feel this week. Lots of big colors and big ideas as far as newsprint goes.

February 9th Southside Times Front Page

Monday, February 23rd, 2009 This is the February 9th front page of the Southside Times. We did a community feature about the best doughnut shops and it required something a little different. I developed the plates layout around the idea of an old-fashioned doughnut shop and then incorporated elements and color throughout the layout.

McDonald’s Full Page Newspaper Ad

Saturday, December 20th, 2008 McDonald's is a brand that is known worldwide so creating a full page ad for a broadsheet newspaper can be a daunting task. I tend to have a love affair with movie posters and it comes out in my layouts from time to time. I designed this completely in Adobe Indesign.

Nightmare on Edgewood Ad

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008 The client supplied the logo and the square flyer. I distressed the flyer, added the hand, gore, background and copy. The end result is a slasher movie poster straight out of 1986.

Friday, September 26th, 2008 This was a photo selected from a photo shoot at The Vault to be used on their Web site. I enhanced and color corrected the photo slightly and added the shop's logo.

The Vault Web Banner

Friday, September 26th, 2008 The client is a funky, trendy hair salon. They needed a a top banner for their myspace page. They wanted to have a picture of all of them sitting in a certain chair... the only problem was, they only had one. So I made a composite and then put the shop's logo on the brick wall as well

Carmel Business Leader - June 2008

Sunday, June 1st, 2008 On this cover of the Carmel Business Leader, we had custom arcade game builder. I knew I wanted to do something in the style of retro 80s arcades. I decided on the headline font and it took off from there. I painted in the glow on his hand with multiple techniques, illuminated his face and couldn't complete it until I made his hair a little electrical as well. The cover subject loved it.

Carmel Business Leader May 2008 Cover

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 On the cover: John Wade, a bar owner on Indianapolis' north side. The green Apple Pucker bottle really pops next to the purple masthead. This was the first time that we covered the masthead this intensely.
